Feedback

We have helped leaders to run STEPS all over the UK and overseas in Denmark, USA, Canada and South Africa. Read some of their feedback here:

  • "We love the sense of being in it together that comes from working on our own "stuff" along with everyone else. We're also learning to trust the process, knowing that it's 12 Steps, and so we can encourage others not to worry if they think that progress is slow. It's then great to celebrate with others when progress is made."

  • "I started a STEPS Group in my house as having small kids meant that it was easier to host than attend another group. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it felt to facilitate, particularly because I wasn’t there to teach or give advice, and the Guidelines were all written out for me. It got even easier as the weeks went on, and I found the formality quite helpful, especially as there was a clear end time! Sometimes there would be times when I wasn’t sure whether to intervene when some issues were shared, but my Coach was on hand to help when needed. Overall I found it a really rewarding experience leading a group, and felt like we became true community towards the end."

  • "Being a Group Facilitator was extremely rewarding. I was initially concerned that I might not do it in the “right” way, although, as the weeks went on, I realised the role is very much one of enabling people and listening, which I found enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed hearing other participants’ thoughts or reflections, which I could relate to and which encouraged me in my own journey. Step 5 was a particular highlight as a Facilitator, as it was a very humbling experience to be part of the confession process and to witness the change in people as they found freedom and healing."

  • "The group felt so easy to run, all I needed to do for the sessions was download the video and pop the kettle on! Having a STEPS Coach available made me feel really supported, particularly when it came our Step 5 Confession evening. What was great about this course was that I didn’t need to have all the answers, that we went on this journey together. The testimonies in the films and book were also hugely beneficial. Facilitating the group and journeying with the individuals blessed me far more than I could ever have imagined; their openness, courage and vulnerability inspired me to keep pressing on in my own personal journey."
